What Happened to all of the Fire PB Guys?

I guess Mustang fans are schisophrenics. Now we have Ark. State and Tulane over the next two weeks. Tulane looked pretty good against Miss. State of the SEC. That game will not be a gimme. Ark. State was the Sunbelt champion last. That game will not be a gimme. So, if we manage to lose one of those games, how many posters will come on to ask for Bennett's resignation?

still here, unless he wins eight games. saturday was fun, but i want fun more often. compete for the conference championship THIS YEAR or get a new job.

like most, i want PB to be successful, just like my boss wants me to be successful. but if i'm not, i'm out on the (wall) street. so if PB can't win eight games (my barometer), he should be out. then we hope that steve o. gets a coach like doherty who says "i'll take on your down and out program but this is what i need to get it done (i.e., level playing field)" i hope steve o. told dr. turner when HE was interviewing that would be the kind of coach he would be going after if/when the time comes.

my predictions:
vs. ark state: possible win
vs. tulane: very likely loss

I'm still here. A win over a Div. 1-AA team is expected. Let's see how the next few play out. A winning season out of this team and I will eat crow. Remember, I want nothing but success from SMU. I am sick and tired of being disappointed.

Let's keep Saturday's win over SHSU in perspective.

First, it was our home opener.

Second, it was against a I-AA school.

Third, and perhaps most important, it was a critical game for Coach Bennett. Like most of the fans, I think the team personally likes Bennett and wants him to succeed. With their backs against the wall, the team rose to the occasion.

Having said that, a win is a win...a glimmer of light in a sea of darkness...and perhaps a sign of better things to come.

A 1-4 September and I can promise you that we start screaming about burning down the House that Phil Built. 2-3 and it is likely we are there as well. 3-2 and we actually have a winning record for the 1st time since the dawn of time so we can't gripe too much. However, this season is all about the final record.

Still here, but we all know one win doesn't save the season. That said, their energy to play the game was great.

WE LOOKED LIKE A FOOTBALL TEAM!!!

What irked me so much about the UNT game was that we were so flat. We had no business being that way, and you need to be that way in college.

They need to win the next going into UTEP. They have and Phil has no choice.

PB may no longer be talking about a bowl, but I'm holding him to it.

If you are implying that these people are eating crow due to the win this weekend, give me a break! That was a 1-AA program that we beat at home. How about fire the fan who thinks Sam Houston is a good measuring stick to judge the success of this program. Let's see where we go from here, but please don't cite this win as something that proved anything one way or the other. The only way that game tells us anything is if we lost it!

A win against Ark. St. and Tulane and we are 3-2. Not too bad considering past seasons. I will take it and be happy. Maybe the beating by the Mean Green has woken up this team. Phil's back is against the wall and he knows it. The players were embarressed by N. Texas and maybe they are playing the rest of the season for pride. Let's hope the team can build on last weeks win and whip Ark. St.

No, I wasn't implying that. I was implying that some of our one trick carpers only seem to venture on this board when things are going badly.

Sorry we're all still here, and not yet convinced. Beating SHSU (which greatly exceeded my expectations by the way) was good. Now let's do it to a D-I school then I'll be excited. Hell I don't care if it's Temple, just beat up on another D-I school!

If that happens Coach Phil would be well on his way to saving his job!
