I didn't make it to the game this past weekend.. but after watching the replay and looking at the box score.. we gave up a TON of yards. We gave up 244 yards passing to Sam Houston? That's not good folks. We cannot do that against the likes of Cougar High and the rest of Conference USA.

Yes.. Willis looked great.. that one pass to Sanders (diving catch).. Willis threw a perfect ball off his back foot. Really nice stuff there.

Before SHSU's last four possessions, SHSU had ammassed 144 yards. SMU started putting in backups before SHSU's first scoring drive, but some starters were in there, too. They marched 84 yards for a TD. We gave up 228 total yards before SHSU's last three possessions and SMU was solely playing backups by then.

Basically, more than half their yards came against SMU's 2nd and 3rd team defense. Still, as Bennett said, you should expect better from the 2nd and 3rd team against SHSU.

Yes, a significant part of their yardage came against SMU's 2s and 3s on defense.
And, to be fair, the Sam QBs -- Daugherty and Hicks -- both have some talent and were recruited by legit schools (Daugherty signed originally with Texas Tech).
But you're right -- the defense needs to crank it up another notch.
