say we go 3-3, what are the chances we put more people in the stands for the next home game?

I'd say we can expect Marshall to bring about, oh, let's say, ZERO fans, so the chances are not good.

I am flying in from LA meeting up with other town people for this one, I think the crowd might be better than you think.
When we were picking a game this one seemed like the game to go to, this one like last year decides our bowl chances
Its the swing game
Let s get a CROWD ORSINI!!!!!!

We had what .... 38 points yesterday? Against a Div. 1-A team?
Yet the student section (and lots of other sections) emptied out after halftime. WTF???????? We've all been to games where our guys were getting beat at halftime, but good god, we were kicking the crap out of Arkansas State. There should have been a party in the stands.
We've played two games at home this year, and we've won them by a combined score of 100-23. There is no excuse to not be at Ford Stadium when the Ponies come home.
Bring friends.

i agree with PonyFan last night was probably the worst display of fan support i have ever seen. If your team is winning, why do u leave? What kind of message does that send to the players...that we dont support them. Last night was the only college football game ive been to where fans start leaving after half. Im calling out the SMU fans who left because the truly are terrible fans. It better not happen again when we play Marshall and are beating them by forty.

If we are:
2-4 we draw 10,200
3-3 we draw 14,000
4-2 we draw 19,000 +
I really think two wins add over 8,000 butts in seats because we would instantly become media darlings!

If we're 4-2, then as you said the media will be all over it IMO.
19,000+, as you say, wouldn't be out of the question with Marshall coming to town (a game we better win).

Y'all are making some good points, why the heck do you leave at halftime when your team is raping their opponent. It should be crazy in the stands. Another point we need to realize is that SMU has an enrollment of 10,000+? and how many of them were in the student section? Some of these kids don't have any school spirit. Look at schools like TCU and Baylor, both private schools but they seem to draw descent crowds. Hell Baylor had the same record as us last year and they have a better crowd than us.

TCU fans are worse than SMU. It has taken how many years of winning for them to put buts in the stands. The TECH game was the first sell-out in a long time for them.
Ever been to a Baylor game. Bad turnout there too and they are a Big-12 team in Waco. Last year and this year is okay.

How do you know that makes them worse than SMU fans when our team hasn't even gotten to the winning part yet?

But how many of those would be visiting team's fans?

I don't get fans that leave before the game is over when your team is killing the other team.
The players can't win with the fans: everyone leaves when you are losing; everyone leaves when you are blowing the opponent off the map. Maybe we should try to just win by a touchdown or less.
The offense has been clicking and while not so much so in the second half, true fans should stay around for the game.
Give the players some respect for a great performance.

I politely asked some friends who were sitting in front of us last night why they were leaving at the beginning of the 4th quarter. Their response: SMU's won the game. And we've got to get up for church in the morning.

We go to the same church. I was at the early service this morning, they weren't. They made the second one. Overslept!

I personally am there for the whole game (for obvious reasons), and don't understand this leaving phenomenon either. One minute left, up by 40+, ok fine leave. 2 quarter to go and up by 30 or so? No, stand there and cheer.

no students ever go to the game because they are either all trashed before the game or they are gettin trashed when the game is playing.
WHY wont UP-HP allow beer and liquor sells for the SMU football games...that is what gets numbers in the stadium.
Smu says they want to make money but they are losing money until they can solve the problem of alcohol being sold during the games...
BEER + Fans = MORE PEOPLE AT GAMES!!!
