also from CFN

Who’s Hot …

SMU QB Justin Willis
There hasn't been a hotter quarterback in the country over the last three weeks than the redshirt freshman after completing 46 of 62 passes (74%) for 511 yards and ten touchdowns with two interceptions to go along with a rushing touchdown against North Texas, Sam Houston State, and Arkansas State. The highlight was a brilliant 18-of-19, 248-yard, five touchdown pass

And in fact, I think this blurb about the SHSU game sums it up...
SMU 45 .. Sam Houston State 14
Justin Willis only misfired on one pass throwing four touchdown passes in the first half and five total on the way to a 42-0 lead. Willis also added a two-yard scoring run late in the first half. Sam Houston State managed 310 yards of total offense but didn't get on the board until late in the third quarter on the first of two D.D. Terry touchdown runs.
Player of the game ... SMU QB Justin Willis completed 18 of 19 passes for 248 yards and five touchdowns and ran eight times for 14 yards and a score.
Stat Leaders: SMU - Passing: Justin Willis, 18-19, 248 yds, 5 TD
Rushing: Fred Turner, 9-104. Receiving: Columbus Givens, 3-106, 1 TD
Sam Houston State - Passing: Brett Hicks, 16-26, 134 yds
Rushing: D.D. Terry, 1-40, 2 TD Receiving: Blake Martin, 7-38
Whoopty doo. What does it all mean Basil? ... Is the blowout win and nearly perfect performance by Justin Willis over San Jose State going to be what turns the corner for SMU? Willis has been accurate over the first two games, but this was the first time he started making big plays down the field and led the team to scores after the offense got scored all of nine points in the first two games. Fred Turner did a nice job cranking off some big runs, and now a steady back has to emerge with DeMyron Martin out.

cfn is really lazy with accuracy with names and such some times, get the feeling they rush to make deadlines and mess up. most of the time they simply don't have the slightest clue what they're talkin about
