We darn well better be ready to play Sat night. After watching the first half of the Saints game, I can image the emotions that Tulane will bring into the Dome as well as the emitional supprot they will have from fans and friends.

If we are not very very very well prepared it could be bloody just like the first half for the Falcons.

Let's go out, play crappy, let the emotion of everything get to us and lose.

Can we please use some rationale here

We are unfortunately favored which seems to mean that we seem able to come out flat. The good news is that with Martin out, perhaps the rest of the team is rallying to show that they can overcome that adversity. We need to be up for this game or you're right, we'll be road kill.

How does Tulane's team speed match up to SMU's team speed? With that new carpet (turf) being so slippery, will it be a factor against the fastest team? Can TU front 7 handle a straight north and south running game from SMU? Can we run straight north and south running plays against TU? What are the team travel plans? Will the team go straight to the hotel and not see any of NO. I assume that that is the normal routine but will Bennett make an exception to show his players the devastation that hit NO? I certainly hope the team doesn’t tour NO. Bennett will need to focus the teams' attention on the job at hand and to tune out the outside distractions (like the celebration before last nights NFL game). It will take maturity by our players to put all the hoopla out of mind and intensely focus on beating TU.

Team speed is similar -- neither team is Florida State, but both are significantly faster overall than they were 3 or 4 years ago. I'd call that even, too.
