More Notre Dame bias

Did ya'll see that The Sporting News made Ty Willingham its Sportsman of the Year? WHY? He's a good coach - not a great coach. He took an average group of players and let them to a better-than-average year. But Sportsman of the Year? Are you kidding? He did absolutely nothing to merit this. The award could have gone to Lance Armstrong (like Sports Illustrated), Shaquille O'Neal, Tiger Woods, Barry Bonds, Emmitt Smith, Tom Brady/Bill Belichek -- even LeBron James. Someone who's made a significant impact on sports. Willingham? No way.

Making him Sportsman of the Year is as bad as NBC with it's national Notre Dame TV contract - trying to boost ratings (or in TSN's case, subscriptions) by sucking up to the thousands of Notre Dame fans. This sets back the magazine's integrity by miles.

How about Yao Ming? There's a guy who's changed the scope of international athletics. The political shenanigans he went through to come over here were unprecedented, and he's made a strong impression on the league already.
