Can Ford Stadium be packed?

so, if reports are true that UCF was giving away FREE tickets in an effort to pack the stadium and make themselves and CUSA look good to a national TV audience last night...is it possible for SMU to pack Ford by giving away free seats? If we started advertising tomorrow? Or, will we once again be ashamed as a national audience tunes in to see 20,000 SMU fans dressed up for Halloween as empty seats? (at least that's the joke I expect to hear that next day in my office because everyone there knows who I support AND that we are on TV that night)

Russ Potts did it, with good results. I say we give away free tickets in BLOCKS.

Surely by now you can answer that question on your own CP.

Surely CP you can answer that question on your own by now. SMU doesn't know their head from their *ss when it comes to marketing.

I have to work the next day! But I'm damn sure gonna be there!

SMU needs to giveaway tickets to every junior high & high school sports team in the Metroplex to get the stadium packed! Give tickets away to every Methodist youth group (and other churches, synagogues, temples, etc.) in the Metroplex! Give tickets away to YMCA's, too! Get the parents onboard by promoting Ford Stadium as the SAFEST place in Dallas and an alternative to trick-or-treating! It's the SAFEST place because of all the CSC staffers and off-duty police officers working extra jobs there!

We would need better media coverage.

Like I posted in the other thread about giving away free tickets...
They should give them out to elementary, middle-school, and high-school kids as well as teachers. It's a safe, fun alternative for Halloween. I would encourage all of the Boo-levard tailgaters to bring big bags of candy for kids. The free tickets would definitely make up for themselves in concessions purchases from a packed house.

How about don't require tickets to get into one side of the stadium, and require ticks to get in the press box side?

FORD STADIUM CAN BE PACKED IF YOU TOLD EVERY HOMELESS PERSON IN DALLAS THAT THEY WOULD GET FREE FORD AND SHELTER FOR ATTENDING THE GAME...

when will SMU and UP give into the fact that they NEED to sell beer during the games to get people in the stands..

For cryin out loud, they have beer on the BLVD...y not put sum beer in the stadium???

What ever gave you the idea that University Park cared?
