Tulane Game Prediction Thread

If SMU wins this game on Saturday, especially in blow out or semi-blow out fashion, I believe it will signify that this team has finally turned the corner. However, because SMU has already shown that bone-headed mistakes and bad luck continue to hang around this team (it's that lingering odor from the NTSU game), I am worried that recent history will prove, once again, that we have not turned the corner.

Close your eyes and just think about it...what will happen Saturday? My prediction: Tulane 31, SMU 13

Did you mix up your head and heart -- you're ROOTING for Tulane?

I stopped making predictions a long time ago. But Tulane sucks. Hopefully we don't suck worse.

Until SMU proves it can win on the road, I cannot pick them to win. Please prove me wrong Mustangs.

Is this not a schizophrenic game? Many of the writers predict a sizable SMU victory while the bookies basically call it even.

SMU 31
TU 10

I'm with you, Billie Joe, in the sense that the Ponies need to win on the road (and hold serve at home, of course) .... although, to be fair, Marshall (we won that game, despite what the refs said), UAB and Houston -- all SMU wins -- were on the road last year.

But again, you're right. Ponies need to win this weekend!

However, we also didn't have a redshirt frosh on the field for those road games, in an emotionally charged atmosphere.

We fall behind early on mistakes and playing an emotional team. By the time things settle down, it is too late, and the offense can't ever get on track.

Tualne 24, SMU 10.

I think we all know what I think will happen. The score will take care of itself.

But PonyPride, let's be realistic:
I think the UAB and Marshall games cancel each other out. We got screwed in Marshall but really had no business winning at UAB. Teams just don't 80 yards in 23 seconds.

Have you ever played in a high school state championship game? Justin has...twice I think. Talk about emotionally charged.
