Says he blames himself for the loss. He didn't prepare the team for the most important game.

Paraphrasing Patterson: "Last year we defeated OU and the next week we get beat by SMU. This year we beat Texas Tech and tonight we lose to BYU."

what a fat f**k. stop comparing teams by reminding EVERYONE who you were able to beat before your embarrassing losses...
who cares who you beat when you lost to SMU and BYU!

That's because you suuuuuuuuuuuuuck as a coach, Gary.

I didn't really mean that. But, gee, it felt great saying it.

He's a great coach--even Texas Monthy thinks so [they voted him the best in Texas].

He didn't lose this game, though... Mike Schultz did.

Schultz is their offensive coordinator, who apparently can't pick a running back.

Then Patterson fell on the sword.

If FrogieFever and Tejas Monthly say Gary Patterson is a "great" (great?) coach, I guess that settles it. Can't argue with that.

They should have lost to Baylor. Patterson and tcu are overrated. All they are is a media cinderella story. Too bad they go home with a pumpkin. (No BCS for tcu)

THAT's your authority for touting him as a great coach? What does D Magazine think? How about the Houston version of Paper City?

I'm not saying he's a bad coach, but there has to be a more reputable source for accolades than Texas Monthly.

Texas f'ing Monthly is your 'source'??

I think Porky Pig is a hell of a Defensive Coach - perhaps one of the best in the nation.

I think he is STILL learning how to be a Head Coach.

The fact of the matter is, he won 13 in a row. That is a hell of an accomplishment. It is VERY hard to get up for every game.

BYU is not a bad team like they were 3 - 5 years past. THey are improved and BYU circled this one on their calendar.

TCU can be disappointed but should not be deterred. They are 3-1 and can still do damage and even go to a BCS game if a BCS automatic qualifier is ranked below them and they are in the TOP 16. They have 8 games to go. Granted, it might take a lower ranked ACC team to beat the better ACC Team, or for WVirginia to be the best ranked BEast team, but not win their conference to say a Rutgers team or something.

If TECH re-enters the Top25, I find it hard to believe that TCU would Fall totally out of the Top25 - a newly earned respect built on 6 years of solid performance.

Well, TCU might get their nightmare bowl match-up, SMU if we can manage to win a few more games. SMU-TCU in the Ft. Worth Bowl. And the MWC could have one of those nightmarish championship situations, BYU, UNM, Utah and TCU tied for first. That would be too funny.

When SMU goes to a bowl game this year, I hope it's further away than 35 miles to the west of Dallas! Cowtown sucks.
