ok, Phil. You kept our bargain. you won 3 in a row.

now, you have to win 4 out of 7 at the minimum.

We have 4 home games, 3 road games.

My new CUSA outlook becomes:

TEAM -- trend that we beat them -- whether we beat them
at UTEP -- trending up -- probably L (beatable)
Marshall -- trending up -- likely W
at ECU -- trending even -- possible L (another road game)
UAB -- trending up -- likely W
HOU -- trending down -- likely L (depends on how good Miami is)
Tulsa -- trending up -- likely L (at this point, Tulsa is the better team, but look more beatable than at the beginning of the year)
at Rice -- trending down -- likely W, but at Rice and Rice is improving fast

That's 3-4 from here on out.

I need 4-3.

I think you are right - and our best shot at reverses are at ECU and at home vs Tulsa.

Rice scares me - its the most likely reverse the wrong way.

It's a shame Rice does that to Army and the world figures Rice is for real now.

We hang 10 more points on the team that beat Army and we are still the cellar-dwellar of C-USA somehow. We are 3-2 and people still rank us right with UNT as the 9/10th worst team in Texas. Whatever. We'll just keep winning.

I think Rice's season preview will be playing Tulane next wekend at the Dome. The C-USA is a pass happy conference and Army is a running team. That game, to me, doesn't prove anything. I believe that game (Tulane) will be an interesting one and we can take a lot out of it in terms of scouting what kind of team we will see in Houston for our last game. If you can't play pass defense, you can't compete and/or win the C-USA West -- we definately need to fix our problems in that area to be a contender.

I love how C-USA this year is a Big 12 mirror conference...all the conference's talent is in one division, save for one solid team in the opposite division (Southern Miss).
