gives you some feeling for what SMU will be dealing with on the road next week. This entrance is pure genius-they don't do that every week do they? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0ggZOmsBjA

On more than one occasion, I've seen Mike Price lead them down those stairs with a pick-axe. Once I saw him swing it onto the field turf after he descended. Pretty cool I must admit.

Based on what Mr. Recruiting has authored here, we might as well not get on the plane to El Crapo (I can say that. I was born there.) and just call off next Saturday night.

While it is a neat tradition to start, that lasts for about as long as when the team get settled on the sideline. I'm not intimidated by UTEP, and I don't we should be either.

There is a crowd factor

What would SMU give to have a partisan crowd in Ford stadium like UTEP will have on game day with us? Of course the crowd is a factor in a game. The reason we don't know it is we don't have one these days. I wish it were different.

Two years ago when we played out their, Price lead the team doen the steps and planted the pick on about the 20 yd line. The crowed went wild and we got our butts kicked.

Entrance aside, I like the fact that Jordan Palmer is color-blind.

He's already thrown 8 INT in 4 games. Hey Jordie, I'm open!!!

They will be fired up but who cares ? So was Tulane. The question is will our guys execute like they have with a desire to WIN. Remember, if Coach Price wasn't worried he would not be starting up trouble over the media guide. That's great hype but remember when Patterson shot his mouth off after TCU's win over Tech about being the stepchild and all that. Patterson created bulletin board material that backfired against BYU...Everybody can get fired up, the question is who will execute the plays to win ? If we play well, have a fast start, and play hard all game, the crowd volume will drop.

The question I have is, What is UTEP going to do about Adrian Haywood? He whipped their arse last year and he stepped it up against Tulane. Look for more Haywood making Palmer's life a living hell this Saturday.

You're right, Haywood is playing now like he did at the end of last season, when he was whipping guys every week. Hopefully he can keep it up. Have we ever had a DT that big and that quick? I can't think of one. Maybe Jerry Ball?

We can only dream for another Jerry Ball, or another Louie Kelcher.

I'd "settle" for Michael Carter - or as enthusiastic a home crowd at SMU as UTEP enjoys
