I know it has already been said that martin might play this weekend... but anybody have any inside info? game time decision? is he practicing this week? and if he can play but not @100% do you think PB will throw him in there and risk a set back or getting in the way of the progress the team has made without him and let him rest one more week? I want him back, but I want him back full speed...

Bennett didn't play Fitzgerald or Turner this weekend, and they were on the sidelines. If he won't play them, he won't be throwing Demyron in before he needs to.

Unless he thought his team could beat Tulane without them, and wanted to rest Fitzgerald and Turner for an extra week. I don't know that was Coach Bennett's thinking -- just speculation.

I hope he rests D Martin until he's ready-- even if that requires a Medical redshirt.
He has a future.

Me too -- and I hope he's ready NOW. Martin topped 100 yards on the ground, I think, in last year's win over UTEP, and we could sure use that kind of performance again this week.
BEAT UTEP!

This is just a guess, but I think Phil and the staff probably evaluated the situation and the fact that the turf is new and thought better not risk re-aggravating the ankle and see if you can get away with no JF for another week.
My thinking is if JF is really ready to go in El Paso, Bennett may be apt to sit Martin until Marshall.
We'll see at the Tuesday press conference.

Expect to see Martin in 2 weeks when he should hopefully be 100%
No need to rush him back when you have Dorsey and Mapps doing a good job on the ground

Are you high? The running game was pretty pedestrian last week at best.

That new turf was not very conducive to a rushing game...look at Tulane's stat...-33yards. Yeah, I know...our defense had a lot to do with that too, but all the same...Mapps, if he plays, will do much better this Saturday.
