KEY to WINNING against UTEP...

The key to winning again this year in EL Paso is to do exactly what SMU did last year, STOP JORDAN PALMER.
Palmer, Brother of Heisman winning QB Carson, is a very good gunsling QB who decided to stay for his Senior Year. Palmer has put up decent numbers so far this year and one of his most impressive games this year was in a shoot out loss against Texas Tech.
When Palmer struggles early in the first half, he has trouble finding his rythem late in the game. The key for SMU to walk out of the SUN Bowl is for the front for to get constant pressure on Palmer and close the pocket as quickly as possible.
Palmer strives by being a pocket passer and when he his pressured he tends to force passes. Palmer threw 3 INTs last year in a season ending loss to SMU and if the 'Stangs want to have a 4 game winning streak, the DEFENSE needs to pressure Palmer and force him to make bad passes.
