My father entered the hospital on Thursday, Dec. 12 after suffering a heart attack the previous Friday. He was scheduled for open heart surgery to replace a heart valve, repair a heart valve and have triple bypass on Wednesday, Dec. 18. He passed away in his sleep early Tuesday morning, Dec. 17.

He loved SMU and his final wishes were to have his memorial service at Perkins Chapel. The following is his obituary from the Dallas Morning News.

Terrible to hear of your loss. Sincere condolences from all Ponyfans.

For what it’s worth, I can image Doak’s smile up in heaven when he hears your dad’s familiar voice!

Take care, and our thoughts and prayers are with you.

My thoughts go out to you. It seems like a rough time all around. My wife's father passed away last Friday, so I can too feel your loss and pain.

A sad day. Best wishes.
