Bad news for the UAB game

I got this email this morning. Sounds like classes won't be canceled, and once again the stadium will be empty on national TV.

This is to verify that there will be NO CHANGE to the University's scheduled classes on Tuesday, October 31. A football game and surrounding activities scheduled for that evening has prompted some questions. Please be advised that there will be parking and traffic implications for late afternoon and night classes.

How many students actually have Tuesday classes?
And frankly, you can bet your [deleted] that I would have skipped.

This would be worse if it was Monday. I NEVER knew of a single chapter meeting that was cancelled.

Is this like them not cancelling classes for the day before Thanksgiving though? Half of the students didn't show up for class anyways. And there'll probably be that one jerk prof that will schedule a test at 4pm that day. There might be profs who schedule an exam at 8am the next morning. That would suck. I'm glad I'm not in school anymore.

As I think about it more, I agree with the university on this one. I think there should be school that day. Keep kids on campus so that they stay for the game. They can have all of the morning classes and the afternoon classes might suffer a little in attendence from people being drawn into the Boo-levard.

I guess it just sucks for me then, cause my only classes that day are at 4 and 6. Maybe the law school will cancel its classes, otherwise I will have to skip the tailgate and meet everybody in the stadium.

No reason to skip the tailgate even if you have classes. Come out early and have a couple before your first class. Then stop by again before your second class and down a few more drinks. At least then you'll be happy in your classes.

Im sure being a fellow student, most of them wont be going to class on that day being that it is Halloween as well.

Most students will start drinking once the sun comes up to get ready for the game.

What classes do you have that you cannot miss? That's why you have fellow law students, to take notes for you to copy later. In fact, I'll give them to you now. First class: duty, standard of care, breach, proximate cause and damages. Next class, offer, acceptance, consideration. I'll even throw in capacity and legality and the defenses of force majeur and mutual mistake for good measure. Now, get to the 'vard and the game.

Better yet...

It's Halloween. Have somebody in your class dress up in an abezontar costume and then your professors won't realize that the real you is actually on the Blvd.
