With Willis being out then I hope that the coaches stick with a solid running game. If they will give these guys a shot and not abort from it after a few carries then they will produce. And with a poor outing last week watch for big things from Mapps and Ced they'll be hungry!!!

But we need to keep a passing game and exploit UTEP's bad pass defense. If we just run the ball, UTEP will stuff the box. We need to keep with the same game plan. Yes, we need to run some to take up a lot of game time, but we need to spread the defense out and take advantage of their weak defense.
I still think that our main chance of winning is pressuring Palmer and taking advantage of the mistakes that he will make. We beat a better UTEP team last year with a worse SMU team. Given that was at home, but I'm still holding out hope.

I say give Slater a chance to sling it all over the field! He has an arm, let him use it. If Willis will be back next week, I say we go down swinging this week. Worst case scenario, we lose.

What do you do if they stack the line of scrimmage with 11 players?? Keep trying to run??

If they do stack the line then of couse u air it out on them. What im saying is u cant have the same game plan of 70%pass and 30% run with a qb that hasnt got sufficient playing time yet.

drs thats a good point, we have an excellent backfield of backs and if we start out running and make them stack the line then the passing game will open up for us!

If they do that, Slater will annihilate every single-game passing record in NCAA history.

PB and Burns cannot pull a Greg Davis. We have to stick with the gameplan and throw it. However, if we can establish a running game it may be our only chance to slow the game down and keep Palmer and Higgins off of the field.
