i don't think this is PB's sole decision to make, so he can't really say tonight.

I think PB needs to grow some balls and not let the administration do his job. I know that he has to answer to them on a day to day basis, but if there are no charges let Justin Willis do what the school has him here for, play football. The administration is not being paid to make football decisions, leave that to the professionals. Besides what could they really be worried about? They have the money to fight this in court

Other schools have players who get caught with guns, drugs, stolen tvs and our qb gets in one little fight and now hes gone for the season. Maybe we should sponser some of the boys down on poke lawn to attend some of CUSA's other fine establishments.

if we don't see someone stand up for Justin Willis, start firing the coaches. They are supposed to be the support group for the players not their enemies

You will never ever see this at post-death-penalty SMU, ever

...Who said that the coaches were their enemies? He beat up a kid and he paid for it tonight by not playing a down.
Sure I want to see him back next week against Marshall but that's neither of our's decision to make.
I feel confident that if Slater plays next week vs Marshall we'll win still.

Maybe Justin Willis should go rob a bank or something more exciting so we can be like every other school in the country and let someone play on the team that actually is awaiting a grand jury hearing

i appreciate what you're saying, but i hope you will accept that the SMU administration is VERY involved in decisions related to the reputation of the university. hopefully, they WILL support the coach and his recommendation, but they ARE and will continue to be involved. that's life at SMU.

I agree with you, he did violate team rules. He paid the consequences. Although, we have yet to hear anyone but the fans come out in support of him. I think it would only be right for PB to make some sort of statement regarding the matter to show that he is backing up his QB. That's all

Amen, the armchair QBs with no facts and just hearsay need to take a step back and let Bennet and Orsini decide what is warranted. If Willis plays next week...Great!...if they decide he needs to sit some more...Great!....they will get the facts and it is their call...and I will support it. I think tonight we saw that the Team is bigger than just JT and we can still turn this into a season to remember, no matter who is under center.

Totally agree that I would like to Bennett make some sort of statement. But whatever.
As long as we win I'll be happy. I'll say this..Slater impressed me in the 2nd half.
After that first half, as you could tell by my posts and most of the posts, nobody believed him. It could've easily been 34-0 at halftime. Yet our guys came out and played like hell and got back into the game and almost won it.
I still stand behind if Willis had played we would've won the game but..hopefully Willis will learn from his decision and not make stupid decisions the rest of his time at SMU.
