Remaining Schedule

First off I want to say...I believe all these games are winnable. I believe that even more now with Houston losing two consectutive games.

4 of our last 6 games are at Ford Stadium where we haven't lost in 4 games.

vs Marshall - Better Win
@ ECU - Better Win
vs UAB - Better Win [How cool would it be to clinch a winning season on ESPN 2]

Now this is where it gets tricky. Rice lost to Tulane today and Houston lost to ULL. Tulsa hasn't played well in Ford Stadium for a while so we'll see how that goes this year. They did beat USM this week though.

vs Houston
vs Tulsa
@ Rice

Could be interesting coming down the stretch. 7-5 is reachable. 8-4 is still possible though.

One game at a time, but if I had a game with a big [deleted] circle around it then it would be ECU @ ECU. They are a good team who beat us last year (granted it took a freak play) and they have been playing tough all year. To win this game would set us up on a nice winning streak when we head into the Tulsa/Houston/Rice final stretch. We need all the momentum we can get.

Let's take it one week at a time tho.

BEAT MARSHALL!

If we win the next 2, a win vs UAB only guarantees nothing worse than a .500 season.

As far as that goes 9-3 is still possible. I agree though that for now we need to concentrate on beating Marshall.

Don't blow off the ECU game. Marshall, UAB, and Rice are games we should win. Winning one out of the other 3 is probably what is going to happen. Win two out of those three to get to 8-4, and SMU would be in a good position (6-2) to win the West, because everyone is going to lose twice.

Bowl Contender or the No. 90 team in the Sagrin Ratings. Discuss amongst yourself.

Agree re: ECU. They will be tough to beat on the road. They beat UVA this week. UVA is having a down year, but any win over a BCS league opponent is a good one in our league. In my opinion, assuming we have Willis, all of our games are winnable. Doubt we'll run the table, but would be surprised if we go under .500 in the remainder - again, assuming we have Willis.

This might overly optimistic but I don't see us going below .500 without Willis either. SMU played in easily the most hostile environment left on the schedule, obviously distracted by Justin's suspension, lost two DEs to injury, and started a QB that had very little to no practice team with the first-string offense, and still almost pulled it out. Playing 3 Eastern teams in a very soft Eastern division (exempting So. Miss.), two of which are at home, Tulsa and Houston at home, and a very unpredictable Rice in Houston. I would VERY disappointed if we split these last 6.

Already refilled my flask, so I am ready to be loud. It is non-alcoholic Bourban of course.
