Any way you cut it, this guy's alleged behavior isn't going to be overlooked if the allegations that are floating around are true. Nevermind what his personal preferences are, it is at the very least inappropriate to "stalk" another student at SMU. Regardless of the events surrounding the alleged assault, University Housing & Residence Life should have halted this situation well-beforehand either within their jurisdiction or by stepping it up to Student Affairs.

This whole situation is a mess, and the only thing that seems clear is that university residence life structure severely dropped the ball. I'm not saying anything right or wrong about Justin's alleged behavior, but if the university is going to camp out on responsibility, then they ought to take an institutional flogging because they didn't see to their institutional responsibility to protect ALL of their students.

A man ought to be able to have a simple fight to solve their problems every once in a while. It looks like this guy was asking for it, and Willis didn't send him to the hospital. Everyone should call it even and forget about it, and Beard transfer to the state school he belongs at.

Stop referring to this kid by name. Call him “this kid” (notice I am not saying “victim”). His name is not relevant. We don’t need to know his name or his parents’ name. We don’t need to know where he is from or his address or his phone number or his e-mail address. This kid is going to get crap at school (and the dorm) everyday. Nobody needs to know anything else about him. The more information that is out there about this kid, the worse. Eventually, it will encourage some misguided idiot to harass or threaten him. Besides, if the events occurred as they are described, then Willis is at least as much a victim as the other guy. Stalking and harrassment are very serious, and can do a number on the person being stalked.
As a PonyFan, I want Willis to stay at SMU and lead our team. But more than that, I want him to feel comfortable at SMU and to WANT to be here.
