I am getting the bad feeling this is the beginning of the end of the Bennett era. This may be the excuse that Orsini uses to "start fresh".

Could be, but I hope not, unless Bennett and this team totally fall apart and loose all focus. (like go 2-4 over the last 6) then he should be given another year at least. Lets not forget how we had it before Bennett got here.

Yeah, especially if it turns out true that Willis went to Bennett with the
problem last spring.
Most coaches, managers, etc. tell you to come to them with any
problems that might affect your performance. Sounds like Bennett blew
him off thinking the problem would fix itself.

This to me is the biggest issue on the table. If this was a reported problem a year ago and ignored, there is more to it than the fight.

this was my concern... but we also don't know if Bennett told the campus police to be aware, or had gone to Turner, or even told orsini... if he did then he did what he was supposed to he's a coach not a bodyguard, but if he didn't he might be in trouble, but i hope not... im sure all of this will come out in the weeks to come

what was he supposed to do -
Why sure Justin - I'll just have that psycho removed from school if you say he is bugging you.
If Justin was being stalked he should have called the police and gone to court and gotten a restraining order. Blaming Bennett is stupid.
That said - a fight is not a big deal - reinstate him after the requesate thoughtful period - which has now passed.

It depends on what Bennett did or did not do. If he told Willis to ignore it and nothing more was done and Willis went back again and again, then maybe there was some neglect (personal not criminal). If he told Willis to go to the police and then Willis did not that is totally different. This is why we need to wait and hear what the facts are. I am much less concerned about the fight than the response of the Willis family if they feel their son was ignored at a time of need.

I hope PB or Orisini kept a record of the report by Willis last spring.

Kept a report that can hang them if they heard from Justin that someone was bothering him and they did nothing? Maybe Orsini is setting a trap for Phil.

If they had done something, they'd be the ones accused of a hate crime. Check this headline out for size. "Bennett accused of hate crime, threatens gay student."
