I heard something about this at thie beginning of the year.
Glad to know the exact time of the game.
Texas has the best players in the state that play football and it will be shown on FEB. 2nd.

Sure does give Price some good access to players for recruiting that no other coach will have access to. This does not seem like it would be fair from a "contact" or "workout" standpoint with high school kids, within NCAA rules.

Why? They're college players. It's not like Price is going to steal them from their colleges. They're already graduating seniors.

My bad. I thought it meant High School seniors.
BTW thanks for not rubbing anything in about the SMU incident with all you have had to hear about past UT incidents.

I think it's complete and utter b.s. and the administration should be ashamed and embarrassed about the way it has handled things. However, I don't want to get into that on this thread.

Soon I will be a "senior" with Texas ties. Maybe I will try out. Of course I doubt they mean senior citizens.

I have a question.
If a player is from out of state and plays at a Texas University, does he have a choice on which team to play? Maybe he is not good enough to play on the Texas roster, but could make the National roster.
Just a question about the rules.

NO...the point of this game is TEXAS vs. the NATION. So it is people from Texas schools against people from other schools around the nation.

But I understood that if you have Texas ties, you could play on the Texas squad. So if you are from Texas and you play for OU, et. al., then you have Texas ties and can play on the Texas squad.
The real question is, if you have Texas ties, do you have to play on the Texas squad?

I guess you didnt read the article because it states exactly who plays for which team.
The Texas vs. the Nation all-star bowl game will pit all-stars from Texas colleges against players from the rest of the country. It will be held Feb. 2 at the Sun Bowl and will be televised live on CSTV.
PLAYERS FROM TEXAS COLLEGES...no texas ties...if you dont play for a texas college you WILL NOT BE on the Texas team.

Yeh, like the 40 out of 89 players on the OU Roster that are from Texas, I counted, it's ridiculous, we are patrolling the wrong border !

Keep reading there sparky...down near the bottom has a little line like what follows: "The Texas squad will feature seniors with high school or collegiate ties to the state. The "nation" roster will be filled with players with no Texas ties."
