I believe I got called biased yesterday for making the same level headed point Coach Phil did. If we have to play this game without Willis, Muse and Rodgers as the DMN would have us believe, SMU will have to play its best game of the year-above the Sun Belt Line-to beat Marshall.

You and Bennett are correct -- anyone who looks at the Herd and sees the 1-4 record and thinks that's a weak team knows nada. They are fast, and the players I talked to -- more than just Kennedy and Carrington -- sound extremely impressed by what they've seen on film. This is a major test, nowhere near a sure win, and a victory Saturday will be a major boost.

Nice write up on us. To add to it a little bit. Look at our freshamn TE Cody Slate wearing number 85. He's a little small for TE but supposedly he is the fastest of all the receivers on the squad. Morris (14) is beginning to look to him a lot. Our wideouts haven't been much weapons this year so far, but Hiram Moore (7)is waking up. Our Oline is up and down. It's hard to tell how they play. Bradshaw (44) is a stud. Look for him to be more of a fixture in the passing game as well this week. He's one of those guys you want to touch the ball as much as possible.

On defense, Cuurtis Keys (25) is back at FS after play SS all of last year and early this year. He hits like a freight train. Our corners are new a little green. They've been playing soft by design this season and it's been too soft. Coach Snyder is locking them down a little more this week. Look for that. We are a little light up front but Albert Mcclellan (96)is a stud Our linebackers are getting a little more comfortable together and Josh Johnson (32) is going to be a special player.

Special teams are ok. WR/PR Spann (24) is ranked 15th in the country. P Ian O'Connor (49)is a little eratic but has the leg to punt the ball 70 yards. He booted a 69 yarder against Hofstra that took a left turn out of bounds at the 1. Anthony Binswanger (41) hit what we thought was a GW 50 yard FG last week. Unfortunately, UCF drove down and spoiled it.

This is a team that can be good and probably will be good in the next couple years. They played well at Tennessee for a long time and CAN play well. Ball control is the M.O. right now with our lack of a true passing game.

I hope this adds to your insight on us for Saturday.
