... shenandoah river...

Thanks Blog for recomending listening to Jason & The Scorchers cover of Country Road. I have it blasting writing now... and will have it blasting as I drive home in my POS tweener car.

I'm so glad you turned out to be right about Willis. Otherwise I would have had to start calling you the BWCW... the Blog Who Cried Willis.

Now I need to find a Mountain Momma'.... or maybe a Mustang Momma'

Jason and the Scorchers are awesome. One of the better bands of note from the mid-80s Nashville punk scene that was affectionately referred to as "Cow-punk." Other bands of the cow-punk genre include the Questionaires and the great, great Webb Wilder. My brother went to Vanderbilt at the time and brought back lots of stuff from the glory days of college radio that was playing at the time. I still have an REM "Live at the Grande Ol Opry" poster.

But, yeah, it doesn't get much better than the Scorchers playing "Country Road"

My brother (rest his soul) was a Vanderbilt grad. Needless to say, we did not have many cheerful Saturdays over the past 20 years.
