All-Conference USA?

Based on what we've seen through seven games, how many Ponies would get all-conference recognition?

My guesses:

THOMAS MORSTEAD: First Team (no-brainer) - at punter

JOE STURDIVANT: First Team

JESSIE HENDERSON: First Team

JUSTIN ROGERS (assuming he returns to full health): Second Team

RYAN KENNEDY: Second Team (last year's low numbers have weakened his reputation, despite FIVE touchdowns in seven games)

JUSTIN WILLIS: Third Team (deserves Second Team, behind UH's Kevin Kolb, but Jordan Palmer's reputation will get him more votes)

Morstead is, by average, the 3rd best punter in C-USA. He has a lot of punts inside the 20 tho...which could boost him. He is at like 43 or 44, and the 2 ahead are 45 and 46ish I believe. Having said that, it is only the middle of the season. There is plenty of punting left to do. That 68 yarder offset his 25 yarder so hopefully his average will stay up.

BR+B:
You missed Adrian Haywood. He has to be on there someplace.

Emmanuel Sanders may sneak on to the 2nd or 3rd team. He may not have the yards or receptions necessary, but the TD receptions grab a lot of attention.

I think Sanders runs into the same problem Ben Poynter and Wilton McCray will -- I'd like to see those two get some much-deserved recognition, too, but they don't have the reputation needed to get enough votes.

If Haywood isn't on the first team, then there's something wrong with those voting, I've been more impressed with him this year than any other player on the defense

i dont think poynter gets or anyone on the offensive line for that matter...as of right now at least. sanders is a good pick...carrington is another good pick.

My votes:

Morstead, Kennedy (5 TDs from a tight end!), Willis, Rogers, Sturdivant, Haywood.

Of those, Morstead, Rogers and Sturdivant should be on the first team.

My impression since joining CUSA is that the Defensive Tackles in this league have been incredibly average and that Heywood is the most dominant DT that I've seen in CUSA.

And clearly Willis and Sanders on the all-Freshmen team. 8)

Willis certainly has a chance to be the national AA Frosh first team QB. Him vs McCoy of UT for first and second team honors, I would think.

Gee, I wonder who would get more votes between Willis and McCoy ....

Hopefully Willis has such gaudy numbers that he just can't be ignored.

i agree that will be tough for him to get first team.... but you never know what kind of numbers he might put up... then ofcourse there is the argument look who smu plays against... i hope thats not the case. either way any recognition SMU get because of "PB's Guys" is great!

No Jessie Henderson? Isn't he second in the COUNTRY in kickoff returns?
