There was a thread here before about alleged arrests of SMU players. Has that been debunked now? Any new word?

I don't think the "DPD is out of a control" is a winning defense to a public intoxication charge. Try "Taint fair"

....maybe we can get the DPD to pass out free tickets to anyone they arrest or pull over, would increase fball population and help with our coverage of the DFW area. Would be a great way to promote SMU fball to Dallas...OR, if someone is busted, and the charge is trumped up (drunk breaking up a fight), the SMU law school could help with the case, might turn folks on to SMU fball.....

One player? I thought it said two before.
Question: should this latest miscreant be suspended from play at ECU, or are we all convinced that the UT system of justice is the right system for SMU now.

sorry two were taken in... thats what had the cops brought in initially. I don't see this as being a reason for suspension if the players were: a) of age to be out drinking b) they were not involved in the fighting
remember DM was arrested in the spring and wasn't suspended for any games... and i dont really consider this the same as being caught with a lb. of "someone else's" marijuana in your car!

Actually, that's kind of my thought too.

So, where is the thread? Was it deleted? If so, why?

No - I mean the sweeping uner the rug thing that they have perfected and that we are now getting better at.
Followed uncoincedentally by winning.

Let's delete this thread, too. I would be good ponyfan web god, wielding the power of the delete key with even-handed fairness.

i wouldnt say we're really sweeping anything under the rug... somethings are just better handled in house... possesion of drugs With enough to be considered "intent to sell" is a little different then a couple of guys being taken in for public intoxication... When a person get arrested for drugs, guns, etc. it makes the news because of the important to the public, not the same for public intoxication (dui/dwi yes) and does not/ should not matter whether or not the person involved was a football player... atleast my opinion
