A good friend of mine within the walls of the SMU athletic department, informs me that Orsini makes very few, if any decisions without first consulting the vast array of creative ideas and suggestions on PonyFans.com. So, I stand corrected....GO 8-4 Boys..BEAT ECU!! Rah.

JT, I would have thought this would have been awesome news for you and Stallion, since you've been claiming that finding the cloud in every silver lining and kvetching about it on this board is the way to get things done around here.

If you ever thought I advocated the AD come over to the sunshine board for guidance, you are just flat wrong. The fact that you attribute me with "claiming" as such is prima facie evidence of your total lack of reading comprehension. This is a message board, a place for fans to express their opinions and/or frustrations for the edification of other fans, not a place for the AD to find his solutions.
But having said that, I suppose you think talking about how everything is hunky-dory for SMU athletics on this board and how nothing needs to change is the way to go? How you can call yourself a fan if you do not share the same frustrations as I do is a mystery.

Not true, those are definitely not the frustrations I was talking about.

Let me explain:
Who says I don't share the same frustrations? You believe that the only way to express them is by beating dead horses. I believe that is counterproductive and choose to express and deal with my frustrations in other ways. However, that choice is roundly criticized by the so-called "realists" as somehow CAUSING continued mediocrity (or worse) in the athletic department, thus implying that your choice to be "real", i.e. constantly negative, on this board is actually DOING SOMETHING to help things improve. I was just sarcastically pointing out that now that we have "proof" Orsini reads the board you can add fuel to your argument that pointing out the obvious negative things while maintaining a black hole for even the slightest bit of joy is going to get the results you desire.

My biggest question is why everybody all of a sudden believes FordtoTolbert.

as for me the statements I've made about the Model are so patently obvious to all 119 Head Coaches and A.D.s in Division 1A that I'm sure neither He, Copeland, Bennett, DeMent, Doherty or any other coach learned a thing. Its the Pollyanas on this board and in the administration who are ignoring the obvious. It wasn't me that signed 5 JUCOs last year in BB and it wasn't me that was a defensive coordinator at a Big 12 school which had literrally half a team composed of JUCOs and it wasn't me that was AD at a school with very marginal admission standards.

If Orsini is reading this than start by calling all of the local high and middle school coaches and offer them and their team free tickets any time they want. You will get some butts in the stands and maybe pick up a few recruits in the process.

What other ways? Patting the folks in the athletic deprtment on the back and telling them what a good job they are doing? Calling people to solicit money for athletics by telling them things are about to get better, every stinking year? If my approach is counterproductive, kindly share how yours is productive, and what exactly it has produced.

Oh my gosh! You're right. Personally raising thousands of dollars for the athletic department is a big waste of time and is destroying this program. From now on, I'll be calling everyone on my list to remind them how bad we've been for the last 20 years, and tell them to stop sending money or buying tickets until they actually prove they're worthy. And instead of actually personally giving my suggestions, complaints, and thoughts directly to the department staff, I think I'll stop talking to them altogether and just post everything I hate about the university and its policies on a public forum. Good ideas. Thanks. I've been so misguided.

No problem. We all get a little lost in the emotions of SMU athletics sometimes.
