REPORTING FROM ECU

Just checking in before checking out of the hotel to head to the stadium.....

Beautiful day for football. Chilly with not a cloud in the sky. A little windy though. 49 here last night, supposed to be 72 by gametime. Town is packed with Pirate Nation at homecoming. I reserve the right to change my mind, but the ECU fans are friendly and hospitable. I'm sure we're more of an oddity to them since we're the only SMU folks here so far.

Greenville fish wrap had a nice section on the game today. Holtz had many good things to say in coachspeak. They keep talking about how explosive Justin and Sanders have been going into this one.

Drove by the stadium last night. The place will be packed today. Will be a tough place to get a win! But We Believe! Go Ponies!

at 2-4 this is a must game for ECU. I didn't realize they have 4 of their next 5 games on the road which will make it even more difficult ECU to reach a bowl with a loss today.

Just got a call about 30 minutes ago, as the team was loading up on the buses. He said the sports page was 4 pages long, but 90% of it is about ECU vs SMU. YA GOTTA LOVE BEING THE ONLY GAME IN TOWN!

I'm already regretting not being there. Why couldn't we have had UCF away this year!
