Just take a deep breath

I was freaking hacked off about this game. But let's just take a step back for moment. I would like to bring to your attention a few things:
- Sanders went up to six straight games with a touchdown (and boy howdy was his second touchdown awesome).
- Willis went up to 19 touchdowns on the season (and he didn't throw a pick... fumbled, yes).
- We have three of our final 4 at home (where we are undefeated this season).
- At four and four we still have the best record an SMU team has had at this point in the season since many of these players were even born.
.....
My point is simply... not being a sunshiner in the midst of a downpour.... but, c'mon! It's not over yet. Honestly, that loss sucked. Winning that game would have been huge, esp. with UTEP losing.
But right now, the task at hand is UAB. This game is over. But unlike any season since '97 (and before that '86) we still have something to play for.
Personally - while I'll still get upset when thinking about this game - I'm not going to let it get me down. This season ain't over.
If were ever going to play for a National Championship again, we have to be good first. This season is/can be a step in that direction.
Bowl game or bust. And heck, somehow last year we would have gone to the conference championship had we beaten Tulsa.
Let's just focus on staying unbeaten at home.
... and if this season goes down the toilet we can cry and moan in the off season. But this team has shown tremendous resilience. I think we can and will play in the post season this year. And I'm not going to let today's debacle turn me into a basket case.
EDIT:
My memory tells me we were 4-4 in '97 ... but that doesn't change the thrust of my argument.
