I am curious if we have any freshman DBs to be excited about? McCann is a start but he is getting toasted along with the rest of them. Next year we don't have Sturdivant...is our Pass D only going to get worse??? Is that possible?

They're probably thinking about moving Willis to DB next season.

CB:
Jonathan Lindley
Devin Lowery
Brandon Jones
Bryan McCann
David Haynes
Tim Crosby
La'Cori Johnson
S:
Bryce Hudman
Tyler Jones
K.J. Ellis
Benson Sloan
I'm wondering if there's a CB in that group (Lindley? B. Jones? Crosby?) who could play FS.

It's hard to believe how bad this secondary is. It also appears after 8 games, they are not getting better. 116th in the nation!

McCann and Crosby will mostly like be our two most outstanding young talent at corner. I look for the two of them to make a push in the spring to take the starting spot.
Hudman is Joe's replacement and Brice is a terrific replacement. He is a hard worker and played very well i the ECU game as a reserve.

Alright so I have next years four right now as
CB - McCann
CB - Lindley
S - Hudman
S - Crosby???Sloan??
Man if I was a high school senior I would be drooling at our depth and likelyhood to come in and play right away

So you're benching Lowery?
He's played pretty well this year, especially considering it's his first year at the position.

I don't think talent is the only problem. It's coaching too! These guys look like they don't know who to cover. Rarely are they turned around ready for the interception.

I didn't really want to but only have two spots and I don't think the kid can be moved to safety considering his comments about not being a hitter. He is a quick sub off the bench or anytime we go three CBS

Well, the stats don't lie, but I still believe it's the soft cover that's hurting us not so much our talent. Now everyone in cusa knows you can throw under us all day & we won't adjust.
Unfortunately, we have the best rush "D" in a league whose Offensive Coordinators can't spell run if you spot em the R & U.

Well said Col. NRJ
SMU Has to put the db's in position. Then adjust if they get burnt. What is going on now is not working.

With McCann being the athlete that he is and having the speed that he has, why not move him to FS?

Goode 5'11 190
McCann 6' 175
Tell him to gain 10? 15?
I see your point, though. I pulled up the only other S whose name I could think of off the top of my head. LSU's LaRon Landry is 6'2, 204, runs a 4.5. Man.

I agree. Pick your poison: get burned once or twice a game or give up yards at 10 yards a clip.
Pass defense will be better if Muse is back at 100%, too.
