Marketing Idea for 10/31

First, take a look at the UAB logo...

This is obviously a dragon, defined by Google (along with many alternative definitions at http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=& ... e%3Adragon) as "A wondrous monster."

Since we are playing wondrous Monsters on Halloween, and we are going to Mash this team into the ground (at least in theory)...I propose we bill this game as "The Monster Mash," and go along with this theme in order to sell commemorative T-shirts (in red, blue, and of course black), have the band play "Monster Mash" at halftime, etc. etc. etc. During timeouts, the jumbotron could be used to show clips from monster movies such as King Kong. A costume contest will be held for all students attending the game, and the five students with the most hideous-looking Monster costumes will be given $1,000 tuition reprieves. Another costume contest, for the little ones in attendance, will result in the top 5 receiving SMU replica jerseys.

What do you think?

And why aren't you working in the athletics marketing department? That's an awesome idea. I would email Orsini or someone of the like about that.

Apparently someone did not ride the short bus to school with the rest of the SMU athletic marketing department. Great idea!

The first 15,000 to arrive at Ford Stadium get $100 cash each.

You sure aren't trying to attract many students with that. You need to add a few zeroes on there for them.

who said anything about attracting students. I am just trying to feel the seats. I am sure most people that have enough money for a cheap ticket to a SMU game would definetly take my $100 offer....

...and this young man will soon be enrolled at SMU in the Cox School of Business, I believe. Go to the head of the class, CalAllen. Unfortunately, it may be too late to implement your idea, though. You still get an A+ !!!

If we do that, will we still have enough money to pay the players?

..have any of you guys ever been even remotely close to a business situation in your lives? This reminds me of some of those church meetings I attend....people don't get it..ie: scale / perspective / timing / expense.

CallenStang...it is less than a week before the game, bro...this "brillant idea" should have been on the table back in March....

This makes the "we need more fans" idea look freakn' awesome....BEAT UAB!!
