Just some interesting stats:

Sturdivant is #7 in solo tackles per game. :D

Great, Now let's bring up the coverage by 5 yards and stop some people.

Maybe not the whole 10 to 12 but 5.

Yes, not always a good sign when your SS is making so many tackles. In that respect it is kind of like total yards punting. 8)

I keep telling Morstead, "Ya know, you're really good. But I don't wanna see you play as much."

But I guess punting is inevitable, and thank God we have a good punter.

i think it is ok for a SS to lead you team in tackles, . . .sometimes... didn't ol' Roy Williams lead OU a few time?

Yeah... saying, "It's not a good sign when your SS has the most tackles on the team" is one of the most overused bullcrap statements ever.
It applies to offenses 20 years ago.

Yes, but the SS Williams played at OU was virtually an extra linebacker, in the Derrick Brooks mold. He stayed near the line of scrimmage and stuffed the run and rushed the passer (just ask Chris Simms).

Drop him into pass coverage, and it's comical how poor he is (see the tape of Jeremy Shockey faking him out of his shoes the other night). His pass coverage alone makes his label as "the most overrated player in the NFL" completely valid. Tuna should move him up to OLB, and use him just like Tampa has used Brooks in all of these Pro Bowl seasons he's had.

As a general statement you may be right but in the context of so many blown tackles in our pass defense I stand by my statement. 8)

It's never a good thing for your safety to lead the team in tackles.
