Bennett seemed rather confident that Martin and Henderson would play. Muse less so, so good to hear he is out there. :D

I'd only be in favor of DeMyron playing if he is 100%. The other running backs are doing a decent (not spectacular) job. A limping Martin has shown this year that he is not the same running back we saw last year when injured. If waiting an extra 12 days will put him at 100%, then wait.

I can concur with ES. Martin runs with such a punishing, straight-ahead style that if he is tentative he will not be effective. We desperately need to beat those drag-queens...er...dragons.

Let drag-ons be drag-ons.

Some experience at game speed would be good to prepare for the upcoming games.

UAB is #56 in rush offense and SMU is #72 but when looking at ypc the numbers are #69 and #71 respectively.

Defensively the numbers for rush defense/ypc for UAB and SMU are #85/#91 and #14/#13 respectively. Using Martin and others vs. UAB's run D will be important. SMU should be able to take away a significant part of UAB's offense.

Note, UAB has scorred 11 TDs rushing while SMU has only 3, and 2 of those are by Willis. Would be good to get the running game going.

So Martin will be needed down the stretch whether in this game or not. But I hope he is ready this week.

All three; Martin, Muse, and Henderson, have returned to practice in full pads so I am sure that all three will be in uniform playing on Tuesday.

Yea, I saw him walk out of practice the other day to the locker rooms. Didn't bode well, and then this story comes out.

Hopefully, Martin is not "injury-prone" the rest of his time at SMU.

Probably more of a conditioning problem after the foot injury. He had no such problems last year.

can he still apply for a medical redshirt if he can't play Tuesday?

Nope -- the rule, I believe, is that no player who gets on the field after one-third of the regular season is over (conference championship games and bowl games are not applicable) is eligible for a medical redshirt. Since Martin played the entire game against UTEP -- SMU's fifth game in a 12-game season -- he would not be eligible for a sixth year.
