Possible unfilled Bowl berths ---------- from another forum

I don't know if our conference is going to have an excess of bowl eligible teams or not but there could very well be some unfilled bowl berths this season.
The Big 10 could very well have only 6 bowl teams for 7 berths and then with the likelyhood of 2 of their teams going to BCS bowls, that would leave openings in:
Insight Bowl in Phoenix and Motor City Bowl in Detroit.
The SEC will very likely have 8 bowl teams for it's 8 berths but they will probably get a 2nd team into the BCS, leaving one opening:
Independence Bowl in Shreveport.
The Big 12 has a good chance of having only 7 teams eligible to fill their 8 slots leaving an opening in the:
Texas Bowl in Houston.
Also, the Poinsettia Bowl in San Diego has 1 at large spot.
