Lack of Coverage from Newspaper Hurt Attendance

I watched the game on TV, and it looked like about 10K real people were there. It is unfortunate that the local media doesn't hype or profile the game when it is on NATIONAL TELEVISION.

We had about a million days of coverage in a row from the newspaper. They are not our PR department, dumb@ss. It's called ADVERTISING, and you have to buy it, it's not free.

There was no attendance because it was Halloween, and a week day. People's kids want to go house-to-house, not watch football.

I loved the way that we begged on the smumustangs.com website and Orsini blog about selling out the game for a national audience but there were no tickets cheaper that $8.50 for kids. Kids should have got in for a $1 and parents for $2. Also, every kid should have been given a free popcorn coupon as SMU's gift for Halloween. Maybe we could have gotten another 5000 people there.

And to top it all off, when the DMN did write they mentioned that Martin played so there goes our Medical Hardship. Had they kept quiet we could have snuck him in.

Hey, you guys better stop your Belo-bashing or they're going to read this thread and pull Kate Hairy off the beat in retaliation. Thanks, McClown.

I am not worried. I am going to build an updated office to try and hire a better assistant.

I brought two cases of beer to the tailgate, one of bud light and one of coors light. I only have coors light left.
Damn the DMN!!

The coverage in the DMN has been absolutely great ever since Kate took over. And although I was annoyed at first, I sort of enjoy the Burgers and Cheer guy that gives me the quick hit summary everyday

.
A promotion for $2 tickets for kids or $5 tickets for anyone is costume or SOMETHING would have been better than nothing. Of course you actually have to advertise to let people know of special deals like that and our budget is not very extensive apparently

Was my assistant with her? I can't find anything in the paper or online.

Doesn't hype it up. I think we got plenty of coverage. 10,000 were there because people that LIVE in Dallas didn't come to the game.
