Is there any truth to the rumor that Trent Stephenson has left the team?

Does anyone know why? Or is this just random gossip?

If he has left, best wishes to him, and we appreciate all his effort for the Ponies.

My guess is that Walcott would have been our no. 1 kicker from day 1... no matter who was here.

Not sure about that. I imagine Wolcott and McMurtray (and Stephenson, if in fact he hasn't left the team) will compete for the job.

It's true. He's left the team in order to concentrate on his academics in order to try to get into graduate school.

Bennett mentions redshirting Wolcott in the "recruiting Roundup".

And Ryan himself said he expects to redshirt. That redshirt would come off, I assume, if McMurtray got injured or really struggled, but all indications are that McMurtray owns the position this year.
