Cowbell Fund

Postby rjhiii » Thu Nov 02, 2006 10:44 am

Thank you to everyone that helped pitch in for cowbells. I think the UAB game was the first time I took a break in ringing my own bell and could hear bells all over the stadium.

I put out a donation bucket on Tuesday and picked up almost $100 that will be rolled into the homecoming bell purchase. Plus, I am still getting checks in the mail, so at homecoming I will be handing out more bells than ever.

Thanks again to all that have helped!

I'll contribute $20 to getting a bell in the hand of everyone in the student section.

Since it is Houston and it is at home, I long for the plastic football giveaway of 1992. Good times.

Most of those footballs wound up pinging Jenkins & Co. in the head after the game was over. Everything was so happy we were winning, all of the students tossed the footballs at the same time at the opposing bench when the clock hit zero.

If we want to send you a donation beforehand, where do we send a check or money order?

Shouldn't we be different and use air-horns instead?

I had people yelling at me for standing up and cheering during the game, doubt they would appreciate the air horns. At least one of the player's moms told the lady yelling at us to be quiet and let us cheer for the boys.

I PMed everyone who mentioned they might be interested in throwing in for the bells. If anyone else is interested, just shoot me a message.

As always, the money all goes to the bells. The Jello shots remain free 8)

I've started telling the old farts who do that this is a FOOTBALL GAME, not a golf tournament! The DCC is about a mile or so to the west on Mockingbird Lane. Go down there instead.
