I appreciate the quote you used from ponyfans.com as saying we are apathetic. The original quote called me pathetic (and still does) and it hurt my feelings.
Edit:
Nevermind. I reread the whole quote and it still calls me pathetic AND apathetic. My feelings are still hurt.

what do you expect from a TUESDAY night game?
You think that people can come in from out of town (the ones that are occasionally inclined)? NO
Do you think that alumni in Frisco to Ft. Worth can commute in? NO
It's to be expected that we draw few fans for a mid-week game...

Well played blogger.... now you have me racking my brains thinking about folks I know in Dallas that went to SMU and don't go to the games. Unfortunately, at this point, anybody I know who has an affiliation to SMU and lives in Dallas is on this board.
Basically that's a huge reason I left Dallas... I was like Luke at the beginning of Star Wars - "Most of his friends have gone...."
But I'm racking my brain, and I'll come up with something.

People that live in Frisco should just give in and admin they're in Oklahoma.

I'm really not complaining about the attendance of the UAB game per se. There are two sentences about it and I mention the Marshall game imediately afterwards.
Not that it matters, but I work in Frisco and live at George Bush and the tollway. I have two kids under five. I somehow managed to make the second half and sat next to a guy that drove down from Allen.

Not to mention that it involves a team that has already lost one of its GUARANTEED FREE WINS.

I suggest that if we really feel like doing something about the attendance we get a Ponyfans.com section. We get our own section at a discounted price and we sell the livin' heck out of it. Let's say I want to bring my daughter and her herd of friends to the game. Charge me $1 a head for the Ponyfans section and I can have her bring 10 kids to the game. I might be able to convince a few of my son's friends as well. For a $1 a kid I might be able to bring my son's football team to the game. I can promise you that every kid that shows up is buying at least $10 worth of crap. I bet that if we had our own section we could sell another 500 tickets without really trying. Then we can drag all these people to the BLVD and show them what a great time we have out there. Had a co-worker working on her MBA at SMU go to the Halloween game. Told her to hit the BLVD before the game. She is a Sand Aggie so I had to explain the whole BLVD thing to her. She came back the next day and was carrying on about how great the BLVD is. We just need to find a way to get the people to the games and the BLVD.

Rumor has it that the Blog got a kitchen pass and my brother ditched my birthday party to sit with him. He left within minutes of the 2nd half kickoff. I am still bitter that I did not get to go as well.

Also, why doesn't ponyfans.com have a beer tent on the 'vard? Or do they, and I'm just missing it?

Honestly, BrianT, I suggest you call the ticket office about buying bulk tickets for your team and see what they'll do for you.

"..dangle free Stars tickets at him and he will find a way there.." The Stars games are FUN!! The Stars games are exciting!! The Stars WIN, and win CHAMPIONSHIPS!! and in the "Dallas mode of thinking", Stars games are a "seen and be seen" affair......what don't you get about all of this. Blog? Did you watch that game Tuesday night? Seriously watch it? Was it any of the following..cool / exciting / fun / "happenin', to the non PonyFans .com ite out there?? The answer is NO!
I have called my buds and pals...nobody cares anymore, bro...haven't for a long time (15++ years).
I am a former season ticket holder to fball & bball / Mustang Club board member / ACTIVELY involved in the MC Fund drives / SMU hat wearn' fool / flag wavin' / bumper sticker displayin' / road trip takin' FAN...guess what?
