in tomorrow's CUSA football games? Seems to me we want Houston to beat Tulsa, Rice to beat UTEP, Tulane over Marshall, UCF over ECU and USM over Memphis. Yes?

I would like to see Rice die a slow death and stink up the place against UTEP. Just for my own peace of mind when it comes to playing them in a few weeks.

UTEP would go to 4-5 with a loss though. Tulane may have a better shot at a bowl than Marshall.

If you really think SMU has a realistic chance of winning C-USA West, then you have them right. If you want to focus strictly on an automatic bowl bid, then you want Tulsa to beat Houston.

Yeah, I know and you have a good point...and probably the right view on who we should hope wins. I just have this bad feeling about the Rice game this year. I wish they were the same pathetic team as last year. I just want to eek out 2 more wins.

It is all about Cougar High tomorrow. Don't care about anything else because this is our only realistic hope to win C-USA. As for the other games I am hoping for Rice to be destroyed by UTEP. I am looking for a demoralizing thrashing that takes the fight out of the Owls for the rest of the season. Maybe a key offensive injury as well for them. As for the rest of the games I would like to see the underdog when all of those games. The fewer teams that win 6 games the happier I am.

With that attitude, let's hope for a bus crash, too. 8)

I think we might want Rice to win too, just for peace of mind. Because if I read things correctly.... if SMU and UTEP somehow ended up as the only two two loss teams in the West, they would advance based on the fact that they beat us.

I don't see that happening... but if Rice were to win too, we would be free and clear in the driver seat, controlling our destiny.

I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want SMU as the driver if I were on the bus.

its still possibly beneficial for as few teams as possible to get to 7 wins though because I think the CUSA Bowls have to take a 7 win team over a 6 win team. I don't see SMU getting a bowl at 6 wins now especially with ECU out there but if we got to 7 wins I doubt there will be 5 other 7 win teams.

CUSA championship obviously would be great. But if we could win out, I would not care whether we won the Championship or not. 8-4 would satisfy me as much as 5-7 would crush me. In either case NTSU devastates me.

I fear losing to Rice & beans too. I HATE losing to those little white punks! My wife said that was the worst trip in her life, when we went to Houston and got blown out by Rice Krispies two years ago. Because I was one mad SOB!

No doubt we want Houston to win because it opens up the long shot of winning CUSA west. In other words our destiny is in our hands. UTEP losing to Rice would be nice in that regard. Rice doesn't have to win, UTEP has a fine capability of losing all by themselves. If that happens then if we get real lucky and run the table, we would be the western champions having beaten UH and Tulsa (there would be a four way tie assuming UTEP ends up with only two losses). We would win a four way tie breaker because we would be 4-1 in the division and the others would be 2-2. Also by having our destiny in our own hands, we will play with a little more intensity. We suddenly have a shot at winning the west.

well some of it came true, UH and Rice! Now all we have to do is win out. Wow, wouldn't that be fun. Nice to have a shot, but I guess we did last year as well.
