Hey everyone I am new to the site but a fan of SMU. My dad is an alum and we are headed to the game on the 11th. I was wondering where to get shirts and caps and things like that without having to go to the bookstore. Anything will help.

mustanglockerroom.com

If you're lucky, you'll find a few SMU hats at various Hat Worlds around the metroplex. Also, I think you can find shirts at some store at Grapevine Mills mall, but I can't remember the name because I've never been there.

I like bkstore.smu.com, but lately I've noticed that they've been 'sold out' of some of the things I tried to order

Lids has some awesome hats. The asst. coaches on my son's team(we are the Mustangs) where buying all kinds of crazy hats. I also had a friend of ours make some nice custom Russell coaches shirts. Looks just like the ones PB has only they are not Nike and half the price. Always an option to have the local Sports store like Plano Sports to make you whatever you want.

That's true. Go to lids.com. The mustanglockerroom site has very little real SMU merchandise, just that garbage with the stupid "arched" logo. Never seen almost anyone wear it, other than coaches and athletic personnel who are required to wear it. Lids actually has stuff that looks like it was designed by someone who has heard of SMU before.

There are a couple of stores (can't remeber their names)on Hillcrest in the block just north of Culwell & Son that have a fairly good selection of SMU gear.

That's one. The other one is further up the block just before you get to Blockbusters.

If you're talking about Varsity bookstore, that place closed. Flash Photography no longer has a physical address either on Hillcrest (from brink & click to just click!).

I haven't been by campus in 5 months so maybe something new has popped up nearby.

Not 100% sure what you mean by "Bookstore".

But the Barnes & Noble SMU Bookstore on Mockingbird
across from the old Mrs. Baird's Bakery is a wonderful
resource for SMU clothing items.

I was there today and they have tons of SMU
wear. Yes it is pricey, but they do have a great
selection and some new stuff just in.

I bought some nice long sleeve SMU t-shirts and
I saw some new SMU hats I had never seen before.

You are not going to find a better selection of
SMU gear anywhere in the world.

I knew the Varsity Bookstore closed...I was probably thinking of Flash for the other place. Oh well, the Barnes and Noble SMU Bookstore on Mockingbird is a pretty good place too as Special_Delivery pointed out.

I just hope you aren't looking for anything in real SMU colors since the sports teams (and therefore all of the merchandise) wear stupid navy blue.

Stupid Navy Blue is as close as we can come to the old Yale blue color which is no longer manufactured by anyone. Not sure what Yale uses now, but it is probably Navy Blue.

Well the color of the header on their website isn't navy blue. http://yale.edu/
