I noticed that this has an "at large" bid associated with it. If, by some miracle, we are able to win one of our last 3 games and end up going 6-6 and get snubbed by our current bowl partners how about this one? Maybe we should all send a letter to this bowl saying that we'd show up. San Diego in December would be pretty neat.
On another note I hope that our AD is calling each one of our bowl parrtners and pumping up our team. Anyone remember the old days when there were no alliances and the non new years bowls just picked whoever they wanted? It might come down to that in c-usa with a couple of 6-6 teams.

If I remember correctly, the Poinsettia Bowl's selection chairman is an SMU alumni.

Fine by me. The only reason TCU got in the Sun Bowl was because the Norwest Bank chairman at the time was living in Fort Worth as well as two members of its board and they were adamant that no (future) Mountain West team was going to go to the Sun Bowl.

That is generally true about the Sun Bowl. Perhaps we could do the same thing to TCU in the POINSETTIA BOWL that TCU did to USC that day.

Dont mean to be negative but we are not going to the poinsettia bowl. No way we get an atlarge bid. Unless we are the last bowl eligible team remaining without a bid, then we get it but that wont happen. Sorry guys, its either N.O. or FW or nothing.

THE ONLY REASON?!? You need to take a step back in time, SMUFB.
