SO I just spontaneously decided to wear my throwback Eric Dickerson jersey to work today.. over my shirt and tie. So far, the only negative response has been.. "What the &#*$ is a smu?" I had no idea I could actually get away with this.. I might just have to wear it everyday from here on out.

Btw.. I'm a teacher.

What grade level do you teach? Reason I ask is.... I am guessing it would be easier to get away with wearing a jersey at an elementary school. As I think that jerseys would be slightly more frowned upon at a junior high or high school, where it might set a bad example for the kids.

Anyhow just curious.

I teach various grade levels from K-8. It is a private school with uniforms and a strict dress code.. in fact I am in charge of just that. But.. this is a throwback SMU jersey.. I can't imagine that every being frowned upon, my friend.

I'm also an administrator, however.. hence why I am on Ponyfans.Com right now. OK.. its my lunch break.

Wow, that's impressive. From your old handle I gather you graduated SMU last spring. Were you doing some sort of masters program? .... I ask because walking out of college into an administrator position is, as I said, impressive. Unless your old handle was misleading.

Good on ya' and keep wearing the Dickerson jersey.

I actually graduated from the University of North Florida with a degree in Psychology. I'm working on my masters at UCF now. I attended SMU for the better part of two years.. my freshman and sophomore years.. and had to leave for financial reasons. SMU will always be my alma mater in spirit ;)

I had a little help getting this position, but ssh don't tell anyone :) It's a very creative environment.. a different kind of learning environment to say the least.. hands-on, individualized curriculum, truly down to EACH student. It's a blast!

And thanks.. I will continue wearing it.

I think I remember your story now.... as you told it a couple years back. Didn't remember it being you, but of course now that your remind me it all makes sense.

BTW - by the definition of ALUMNUS you can claim being an alum of SMU not just in spirit but in fact, as it is defined as school that you have attended, regardless of graduation. Now, I do not know if that definition carries over to ALMA MATER.... but I would guess that it might, considering they are from the same/similar latin route.

And yes, all the best jobs are gotten because you know someone... in fact I don't think, personally, I have ever had a job where I didn't already know someone/have a strong connection to someone already at that place of bid-ness.
