I mean Futbol . . .
Their Soccer Program is going back to Club status -
I believe that leaves SMU as the only D1 Mens Soccer program in Texas.

Are they replacing it with a women's sport? Could be a Title IX deal?

There are several rumors about why. The program has been pretty bad for a while. Thats the official stance...that the players are dissatisfied with the program. TCU was also supposed to implement a softball program to help with Title IX. Because of the economy, they want to hold off on that. The soccer announcement came less than a week later. Its probably a combination of the two, although there will be little impact to Title IX. The soccer program has only had 2 scholarships to work with anyway. It probably came down to not wanting or being able to spend the money necessary to upgrade the program, with a little Title IX thrown in.

Women's soccer is still there, and we host quite a few local tournaments. Its not like the soccer venue is going to sit there unused.

I guess you would consider Ford a great investment then? It basically goes unused.

Compared to the weekly sellouts at Amon Carter? Gee, I guess you got us there.

Yeah, but you didn't see us building a new stadium that's still too big to fill what we need.

Hey, Froggie! There must not be enough TCU fans on ya'll's message board for you to post on to get replies. I guess that's why you come over here. At least SMU fans 'talk it up.' Now...go jump in the Trinity River! Its environment suits you to a 'T'...as in TCU!
Congrats, Froggie...you just helped me get my 200th post on www.ponyfans.com!

That's because you already have a stadium that is too big to for your needs.

Let's not even talk about anything related to TCU football, and or the stadium.
The women's soccer program is still going to be D1, just the mens downgraded. The main problem is that the players and coach did not get a long, and the majority of the players quit.

TCU was ranked for what, four weeks from 1960 to 2000? Got a lot of use out of it for those four decades.

Oh gosh I love these Froggie fans. When we stomp their butts next year, I'm sure they'll call it a fluke. But they can't ignore us once we start beating them on a regular basis, just like old times. Go Mustangs!
Honestly, how can any team be passionate about winning when their colors are purple and white, and their mascot is a HORNED FROG?

Well...
When you go 5 straight bowls... thats right, 5. Thats something to get excited about... Taken into consideration that, and you haven't been to any bowls recently... Thats definately something to be proud about...
And as far as beating us on a regular basis... you need to at least beat us once, and thats not going to be anytime soon.
GO FROGS
