And SMU hosts 'em for their first game on Sept. 1 in Dallas at Ford Stadium.

Can you say "S-E-L-L-O-U-T"? :D (I knew you could.)

Red Raiders will play 3 C-USA opponents in their first 3 games next year. SMU, UTEP & Rice.

From the Texas Tech sports department:

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech renews acquaintances with a former Southwest Conference member, begins a new series with another and faces a formidable Big 12 Conference slate on the 2007 Red Raider Football schedule. The Red Raiders play six games at home and six on the road next season.

After opening the season with three of the first four games on the road, the Red Raiders have a stretch of three-straight home games beginning at the end of September. Tech his home for three of four October dates and closes the season at home with a single November game.

The Red Raiders will open the season on the road at SMU on Sept. 1 in the first year of a new four-year contract, which will feature home games on alternating years. The second game of a two-year deal with UTEP takes place in the home opener on Sept. 8, while a new two-year agreement with former SWC foe Rice begins in Houston on Sept. 15. The Owls will return the game in 2008. In the final non-conference game, the Red Raiders will host Northwestern (La.) State on Sept. 29.

Please, please let us open the playbook when we play them again.

Willis will be a year older and I am sure the playbook will be wide open by the time September 1st rolls around. There is something to be said for experience and by then Willis will have it.

Maybe we'll take an 8 or 9 home game streaking into it.

I was there for the whole 'running up the score' schuffle 2 years ago. I sure hope it is a lot better game next year.
