So I was watching today and they were talking about the Rutgers/Louisville game and the guy was saying something like "years ago, Rutgers fans would come to tailgate....and most of them hardly went into watch the game"....sound familiar? THATS US! Hopefully that can change this weekend. SMU needs to figure out a way to draw people away, like stop serving alcohol a half hour or shutting down tailgate all together, or better yet, swap the halves of the Boulevard. Put all the greek tents on the lower half and the alumni/group tents on the upper half, so the students could go. We all know the alumni and groups go, but the students hardly ever. Go mustangs!

The Boulevard ain't broke, so don't fix it. How about getting good at football so the tailgaters WANT to watch the game.

We've got the same problem. They instituted a policy this year of no tail-gaiting allowed during the game. You can only have four people to watch over the stuff. I don't think it's been enforced, but at least someone is thinking about it.

How the heck does the location of the Greek tents effect whether or not they go to the game?

With the Greeks don't you want to be where they are bearing gifts? (sorry)

Let's just move the Greek tents inside the stadium.

There's an idea. Put them right next to the bounce house in the south endzone.

That I could actually see making a positive impact on their attendance at games other than the 2nd quarter of homecoming.

In the early 80's, when guys like Eric and Craig were running up and down the field, the Stadium Club, aka, the 'vard of the 80's, was PACKED with people chit chatting, backs to the field, socializing.......so, my question, we couldn't "really" get a focused fan base in 1982, how we going to do it now? BEAT HU.

Let the Greeks use the bounce house. Its not like the family fun zone is a smashing success. Just like Vegas learned, families are great if your entire business is built around the family. Vegas is about gambling and families don't gamble. Mustang Football is all about D-1 Football. Every thing at the stadium should be there for the enjoyment of the Football fan and not the 5 year old that does not want to be there. Things that SMU needs to do to make my trip to Ford more enjoyable:
-Game day give aways
-Friendly and Helpful staff that respects the fact that I am the customer.
-Bring back Dr. Pepper. Mr. Pibb does not count.
-Have people actually selling food and drinks in the stands.
-Allow full in and out privileges to the BLVD.
-Improve the PA system.
-Blow something up or shoot something after every Mustang touchdown.(Fireworks are always acceptable)
-Ditch the family fun zone
-Build a food court that has mini-local restaurants like Pluckers, Campisis, and Snuffers.

there is one reason and one reason only why the greeks even tailgate.. Booz and girls drinking the booz..
If you put them in the stadium they would not be allowed to drink, so they wouldn't even show up.. They go where the girls and alcohol is.. No alcohol in the stadium, no girls, No Greeks.

Actually, that's exactly right. I went to games cause I wanted to support the school and the guys I knew on the team (I also like football), but most people were only interested in getting dressed up and loaded...(not that there's anything wrong with that).
But at the same time, a team that was winning 0-3 games a year and constantly was getting SPANKED by its rivals, was NOT fun to watch. It's also odd to me that the teams we DID expect to beat were UTEP and Tulsa who now dominate, more or less, our conference.
GO MUSTANGS!
FIGHT ON!
