Every college promotes their star player with big numbers as a Heisman candidate if they are still around their SR year. Its good marketing and a smart thing to do, even if it isn't the most likely scenario in the world. UH had aspirations of a 10-2 or even an 11-1 season before post season play. If they were on pace for that, a Heisman campaign for Kolb might actually carry some weight when you look at is numbers.

Special thanks to blogger for finding that one..... Now let's hope that any longer than long shot chance is completely burried this Saturday.

Don't get me wrong I am a Mustang fan all the way, but he definitely deserves consideration, look at these numbers...
Kolb's 2006 Game-by-Game Passing Stats
Opp. A C I Yds. TD Lg
Rice 35 22 0 233 3 24
Tulane 41 24 1 350 3 63
Grambling State 31 27 0 297 2 24
Oklahoma State 28 21 0 313 4 42
Miami 28 18 0 196 0 36
UL Lafayette 31 24 0 367 2 58
Southern Miss 38 22 0 339 2 74
UTEP 30 20 1 208 2 37
UCF 34 22 1 305 3 62
Tulsa 21 16 0 244 1 53
Totals 317 216 3 2,852 22 74
2,852 yards 22 Touchdowns 3 Interceptions 68% completion rating, this man can play! He has been a big time player in UH program for the last four years and he should get credit. No one is saying he should win, because he shouldn't, but he definitely deserves a look as one of the final five.

That makes the Tulsa game look really interesting. His fewest attempts and completions and second fewest TDs in a game.
Maybe we should plan for the run or at least be prepared.

UH was up 24-10 after the first possesion of the second half. They went into safe mode and threw maybe 3 or 4 passes for the rest of the game. Kolb will throw 30 times against us.

Kolb had the second most yards per attempt against Tulsa. #1 by a nose was ULL.

if you think any qb is close to Troy Smith this year your crazy.... right now its a runaway unless ND starts putting up crazy numbers, or adrian peterson runs for 1,500 against OSU, i would bet the farm on Troy

If Adrian Peterson runs anymore, even 1 yard, either give him the Heisman or give him a straitjacket for playing with a broken collarbone.

he said on the sidelines at the A&M game hes recovering fast and could be back in time for the OSU game... and if the doctors clear him he'll play

AD will most likely never take another collegiate hand off at OU. He has passed the torch down to AP (Allen Patric) who has been running like a mad man in his last 3 games. Did anyone see his monster 70 + yd. TD run that was called back last week against aTm?
