Tailgating helpHey Ponies
Was wondering if anyone could help me out. A bunch of us UNT fans are meeting come Coogs to tailgate for the game saturday. Never been down to Ford for a game. Did some research on Tailgating but needed some more specifics. we are not going to bring a grill. Is there a place to park you car and tailgate. If so How much? Or is it easier to just lug everything in and set up a tent etc? Thanks in advance. Heres to a good game.
If you want to make your coog friends feel at home, you should park in the NTSU parking lot, eat baloney out of your trunk, and listen to the game on The Ticket. Every so often have an ugly woman walk by. They will think it is a home game.
Thanks. @ss
Way to class it up. Really not interested in getting in a [deleted] match with you right now. You guys beat us right? Just looking for some help. Can anyone else help. Why bother helping me? Well considering its 20 people who have never been to an SMU game might be a good reason Maybe to show the Bowl Reps who are present you can draw people for a game. Another time I would love to come here and argue and listen to to you tell me how great you guys are
Re: Tailgating helpGreen: there's another thread that addressed this issue for a Coog fan. It should have all the information you need. Scroll down. You'll see it. It's called "Can You Explain SMU Tailgating to a Coog Fan?" Thanks for coming to the game. Will you be pulling for SMU or UofH? Sorry to hear about Dickey.
Wow. It is true that you do not grow senses of humor up there. It was meant more for your coog friends than you. Sorry you are so thin skinned.
If you want to enjoy an SMU tailgate, bring whatever you can easily carry to eat and drink, and just walk the blvd and enjoy the scenery. For a one time trip, lugging stuff would not be worth it in my opinion. If you do not bring anything to eat or drink, you will find most those with tents to be very hospitable. Sorry I upset you so early this morning.
To be honest, if you aren't bringing a grill, I would tell you to bring coolers with wheels and head on down to the boulevard. Definitely the best way to see the "sights."
If you want to actually tailgate (ie out of the back of your car) there are a few lots within walking distance around campus that you could park and setup. I think the parking is like $10 and there is a map on the athletic website, I just don't have time to look it up right now. Maybe in a bit if no one else posts it. I may not speak for everyone, but I am happy to have you guys coming. Are you sure you can't bring more friend? Please? We need all the attendence help we can get.
Now this is a little more hospitable
Not thin skinned. I just get tired head from the SMU/NT battles sometime Not really pulling for anyone. Just a good Texas Football game I'll check that thread out. Yeah losing DD was a tough pill to swallow. However he got us as far as he could I think. His offense is not designed for anything outside the Suckbelt. We all have higher aspirations. I look at what Briles has done for the coogs as were we would like to be. It looks bad after the heart attack I know but to be honest we were a few bouncing balls away from 0 conf titles in the worst Conf in D1. It was the right call so we can get someone in here and recruit etc. To be honest how the hell did you guys lose to us this year? we are terrible I'm serious on the 20 people coming part. 6 UNT grads 6 Coogs and some Frogs and Tea Sips
See Baylor 2004 for what I expect from you guys
We wrecked them in 03 and paid for it in 04. We played so far over our head against y'all. I'll take the win but no optimistic next year especially with a new HC
Mrydel was joking.
BTW - the un-official PF.com tent, the Special Delivery tent, if I recall correctly, is home to at least one or two NT alums. They are always welcoming there. You should stop by and say hello. ![]() Eric Dickerson in Pony Excess "I've love winning man, it's like better than losing." - Ebby Calvin "Nuke" LaLoosh
Thanks for the advice all.
Looked over the thread about tailgating and called down to the Univeristy. Just want to make sure I understand correctly I am going to get there at about 9am drive down bishop and drop off my stuff. like coolers food tent tables etc Then go park wherever So once I am there i can just set up shop on the grass somewhere? Pardon my ignorance...
GN, here is a link to the official Boulevard site. Hopefully I figured out how to insert a working link.

Yes, you can set up your stuff anywhere on the south half of the Boulevard; however, there is one rule. The space from the curb out about 30 feet or so is set aside for the people who have those assigned parking spaces. Should not be a problem, but just be aware of it.
Also, if you plan on indulging in alcoholic beverages, there is a rule that they need to be poured into cups (not clear cups - we call it the Opaque Container Rule). So plan on bringing some plastic cups (red or blue). "It'd be nice to see Jesse Henderson break one here."
Thanks I pulled that.
More what I was looking for was how territorial things get and how much space we can take ie small tent table etc. So is my idea ok? Jump out on the blvd set up tent and tables in the grass area?
