Pressure

Postby Cadillac » Fri Nov 10, 2006 12:29 pm

I'm nervous about the game tomorrow. Not because I don't think that the 'Stangs can beat the kittys, but because this is really the first "High Pressure" game for this team.

I guess the Monster Mash could be put in the high pressure catagory, but I really don't think so. At the time, this team knew only that they had to find two wins in four games to have a shot at bowling. Now it's a whole different kettle of fish.

Win out, and we're in for the Championship. Lose, and we're done. Win tonight, and we've taken the first step to bowling. This is the best team we've faced since Tech, and we'll be at home for it.

But so far this team has been able to win when they have nothing to lose. Is there any chance that they will blink at the moment of truth now that they do have something to lose? They've made it this far, can they keep it going? And if (heaven forbid) they drop one to the tabbys, can they regroup and save the season in the final two games?

To me there are two keys to this game within our control. First is how Hudman and McCann play. If we show up with anything resembling our play against East Carolina, we're toast. But the two freshmen did well against UAB. Let's see if they can continue.

Second is Justin Willis. If he's freed to play like he did against Marshall and the few games before, we can hang a few points on the board and maybe take down this very good Houston team.
