Dare I say a small buzz is building in Dallas?

Postby RE Tycoon » Fri Nov 10, 2006 5:00 pm

Now that I'm a few time zones removed from ponyville, I may not be the best person to comment on this, but from what a few of my friends have told me people who have little or no connection to SMU are planning to go to the game tomorrow. These are co-workers of my friends with no college ties or ties to a Big 12 school, etc. So I pose this question to the Dallasites, what is your take on the situation? Is it status-quo or is there a little something brewing?

There is always an artificial boost for family weekend and homecoming, but I hope to see more on top of that, although I'm not crossing my fingers.

All I know is that some spare from work that I found out is a Cougar High grad is betting me $20 on the game straight up. I seldom deal with this guy but he knows I am a Mustang fan. Also, all the SMU MBA's we have here are getting an earful about showing up at the game as well. Should be sporting 30 people with me.

You'd make MacGyver proud. Make sure that Trojan isn't expired...

Some of the people that I brought to the UAB game are coming to this game and several new guests. I'm guessing about 5 non-SMU guests. Plus a couple of alumni that I've talked into coming. Go Mustangs!

I'll be bringing another Mustang and a Jaguar

I know of several Law students who will be making their first trip to Ford in 3 years too.

Our tailgate usually has about 10 to 12 people. Tomorrow I will feed 40.

Trinity is the Tigers, and I once saw one of their students quoted as saying "We have no athletic rivals because we beat everybody." Is it just me, or do they not play anybody either?

Oh...at our high school pep rally earlier today, all four of us SMU fans somehow ended up standing together in the "Senior Circle" during the school song...we sung with Pony Ears raised. Excitement in northwest Corpus has reached a new level.
