QB-Justin Willis had 3 TD passes to set the new SMU single season record with 23 for the season (was 21 by Chuck Hixson in 1968)
---His 25 TDs accounted for (23 pass, run) are the second-most in SMU history – Hixson had 27 TDs in 1968 (21 pass, 6 run)
---Willis had  315 yards of total offense (299 pass, 16 rush) and has 1971 yards for the season, which is 12th in a season at SMU (passed Mike Livingston – 1768 in 1967; Ramon Flanigan – 1796 in 1993; Mike Ford – 1926 in 1977; Jerad Romo – 1942 in 2005)
---Willis was 23-36-299-3-0 for a 63.9 completion percentage and a 161.2 rating and season total is 163-233-1720-23-4 with a 70.0 completion percentage and a 161.1 rating
---His 1720 passing yards are 14th at SMU in a season (passed Don King – 1598 in 1984; Ramon Flanigan – 1715 in 1996)
---His 163 completions are eighth at SMU in a season (passed Jerad Romo – 155 in 2005; Chcuk Hixson – 160 in 1970)
 
WR/KOR-Emmanuel Sanders had 2 TD catches, his second multi-TD game, and now has 9 on the season, which is the second-most by an SMU player in a season (record is 11 by Emanuel Tolbert in 1978; he passed 8 by Jerry LeVias in 1968)
---His 151 receiving yards made him the first SMU player over 150 yards since Albert Johnson had 162 against Tulane in 1998; His nine catches were a career high and the most by an SMU player this season

DE-Cory Muse had a fumble recovery, which was his third of the season and the sixth of his career; he had a career-high 3 sacks and now has 7 for the season and 9.5 for his career
 
SMU Team Notes
 
The Mustangs had 3 TD passes for a season total of 26 to extend the new record (was 22 in 1990)

Yes Brandon Bonds did finally get his first sack against a Division 1A team in his career.

He also got it after dislocating a kneecap. Coaches and players said after getting it put back in place, he simply refused to stay on the sideline. Bonds is one seriously tough guy.
