5 plays

Five plays led to our downfall. Prevent any one of these, we could be playing on for the C-USA championship. Now, we have to win 2 very hard games to go to a bowl game. The five plays:

1) Fumble on opening kickoff;
2) Breakaway 80+ yard run from scrimmage
3) Failure to wrap up on Kolb in the endzone b/f he throws the 30-yarder on 3 and long; :x
4) SECOND F%*@$ FUMBLE!!!!
5) SECOND BREAKAWAY 70+ yard run

Very disappointing loss. Yuck...I just got another whiff of the NTSU stench that I can't wash off--it just won't go away.

is this a new version of woulda, coulda, shoulda, mighta if-only-a. Let me add if Houston did not get 9.5 yards per carry from their RBs we would have won easily.

Hahahaha. I was just looking for that thread. I definitely think that this game falls in the coulda category. C'mon, Stallion...37-27, when we were up in the 4th Q? By the way, I think 2 of the five plays go to getting burnt by speed. Take back any one of those plays and we could've won this thing.

yeah but I always consider speed and athletic ability to be the most important factor-which overcomes hopes and wants and dreams.

We sack Kolb and get a safety and that game more than likely would've been over. Or, coulda....AGREED?

no that would have given us a 5 point lead. UH went 99 yards to score. Gee I would think a fan of LSU would know how great plays made by great athletes make the difference.

I also know that momentum does wondrous things. Houston's last TD was scored on the fumble by Mapps after the wind left our sails. Get the safety and drain the clock, and I think we win. I could be wrong. You could be wrong. We'll never know. 8)

Yeah, but it would have given us a 5 point lead with our offense on the field instead of theirs.

Easy there, angry bubble cowboy. I'm just as pi$$ed off as you are. SMU LOSSES RUIN MY FRICKIN WEEK. What did you find so offensive in that, anyway? (Not that I care all that much.)

Sure would be nice if SMU still had a men's track & field program, wouldn't it? The Mustangs could have some speed just like UofH has.

Change #1 to opening fumble by Willis.
